I would like to share my disappointment with our recent appointment experience. My child has braces, and we came in for a scheduled maintenance visit. We were considered 20 minutes late, and I understand that being late can affect the office schedule. However, after we arrived, we were asked to wait another 10 to 20 minutes, and then we were told that nothing could be done and that we needed to reschedule. If the office already knew the maintenance could not be performed due to timing, I wish we had been told that right away instead of being asked to wait. Overall, we spent about two hours end-to-end, including travel and waiting at the office, for what is usually a 20-minute maintenance appointment, and the scheduled maintenance was not completed. It felt as if our time was not valued. I understand that offices need scheduling policies, but I hope your team can improve communication and decision-making in situations like this. If a late arrival means the appointment cannot be completed, please let families know immediately at check-in so they can make an informed decision instead of waiting unnecessarily.

Owner response

Dear Lawrence, We sincerely value and respect everyone's time. We try our best to run an efficient schedule, stay on time, and provide quality care for all our patients. Your daughter's appointment was reserved for her for 20 minutes and she arrived almost 30 minutes late. Once she arrived, we were informed that she had a bracket that had come off which needed to be put back on. This procedure of re-bonding the bracket requires additional time in the schedule. With the lost time due to tardiness and the extra procedure that was required, we unfortunately could not see her without disrupting the rest of our schedule. It would not be fair or considerate to our other patients to have to wait because of your daughter's late arrival. If you are running late for an appointment in the future, please call and let us know you will be late. We can then advise you over the phone of our current schedule status. We will try our best to see you if the schedule allows, but if it too disruptive to our schedule, we will ask you to reschedule. Thank you, Dr. Wallace Wong and Staff
