Subject: Systemic Billing Issues and Representation Failures
"I am writing this to share my factual experience with Modern Family Law (MFL). My case was characterized by a lack of continuity and significant administrative oversight:
Firm-Initiated Transfers: My case was cycled through five different attorneys. These transfers were initiated by the firm without my prior consent, leading to a massive volume of redundant information and a loss of case momentum.
Oversight of Key Details: During these transitions, critical information that should have been managed by my legal team was overlooked. I was forced to personally pursue and track down data that fell under the scope of my attorney's responsibilities.
Billing Disputes: I encountered significant issues regarding unauthorized charges and over $4,900 in 'transition fees' resulting from the firm’s internal staffing changes.
The 'Trial Trap': Immediately after I raised formal questions regarding a billing audit, the firm attempted to withdraw from my representation. This occurred with less than 90 days remaining before trial, leaving me in a compromised position after the firm failed to execute on a $163k contempt judgment.
In my experience, the firm’s internal logistics and billing practices took precedence over the consistent execution of my legal strategy."
