June 9, 2026OK, if you want to review how I got to Overlake Cardiac from Lacey, WA I'll tell you the story. About five years ago my PCP was concerned with her readings of arrhythmia on my heart. I was referred to Providence (Saint Peter's) in Olympia. My assigned cardiac surgeon put me on four heart medications. I did on-line research and felt that a heart ablation would be the best course of action for my recovery. Annually, and for three years I asked my cardiac surgeon (Providence). "Doc, when are you going to cauterize my heart so I swing to 'normal'?" "Oh, Dale, you are doing fine, I'll see you next year". Finally, I asked one of my friends that had a similar heart condition for a reference to his cardiac surgeon. He gave me a referal to Dr. Rodrigues at Overlake. Initially, I brought my recent cardiac ecg's and just wanted to inquire if my cardiac surgeon was 'in the ballpark, as to my cardiac needs". I was surprised that on my initial visit to Dr. Rodrigues. ARPN Mary Hall ran a 12 pad ECG on me. Dr. Rodrigues came and told me that I was a 'good candidate for a pulse-ablation. Several subsequent visits and I had the procedure done in March 2025(?). I just found out that Dr. Rodrigues has retired but ARPN Mary Hall has given me a 'gold star' for the attention that I have put into my cardiac care. She is amazing. She communicates 'with me' and not 'to me'. My arrhythmia has gone from 30% to 40% to 4%and 7% on a weekly basis and I feel so much better. Earlier this past week, and to give respect to Dr. Rodrigues and the Overlake cardiac team. I informed my PCP (in Lacey) that I would like to focus all my cardiac care to the Overlake cardiac team. Initially, I will retain contact with ARPN Mary Hall until a replacement for Dr. Rodrigues is assigned. In closing, I felt nothing but 'solid professionalism'' for all members of Dr. Rodrigues cardiac team. It's been the most most positive medical coverage I've had in a long time by going to the OMC. The I-5/I-405 corridor requires 5 to 6 hours of to/from time to make my appointments, but I have no regret, I have the best cardiac team in the NW taking care of me. Kudos to those folks who give their best to keep their patients up and running.
