We have had an extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Adam’s orthodontic office. Before our son could even get his bottom braces installed, we were instructed to complete additional dental treatment on several lower teeth first. We spent thousands of dollars completing those procedures, only to have appointments repeatedly delayed and mishandled.
First, our appointment was canceled because Dr. Adam had a baby, which we completely understood. Then another delay occurred due to a death in the family of the dentist completing the fillings, which we also understood and sympathized with. However, because appointments are booked 6+ weeks out, these delays stretched treatment out significantly.
After waiting another 6 weeks for what was supposed to be the full bottom brace installation, we arrived only to discover the office had scheduled the visit as a simple adjustment appointment — despite the fact that there was nothing to adjust because braces had never even been installed.
What made the situation truly upsetting was Dr. Adam’s behavior afterward. Instead of handling the scheduling mistake professionally, he became rude and accusatory, claiming we were “bullying” our way into an appointment. This confrontation happened in front of our son and a room full of other patients, which was humiliating and completely inappropriate.
At that point, both we and our son were so uncomfortable with the interaction that we immediately requested treatment stop altogether. No family should feel embarrassed or disrespected while trying to get medical care for their child.
At this point, we have paid over $6,000 toward treatment and still do not have braces installed. Everyone can have a stressful day, but patients deserve professionalism, accountability, and respect especially children and families investing significant time and money into treatment. Unfortunately, our experience with Dr. Adam’s office was one of the rudest and most unprofessional medical interactions we have encountered.
